Telephone policy
Purpose
The purpose of the telephone it to communicate with the school, i.e. to convey messages to the districts, surrounding schools, parents and interested parties concerning matters that concerns the welfare of the school.
Personal matters are restricted to emergency matters.
Official calls
They are to be made by the principal or someone delegated by him concerning school matters.
Private calls
• No private calls are allowed.
• Incoming calls are allowed only during break, i.e. 11H15 – 12H00 and after schools.
• Messages will be taken by the administrator at any time.
Costs
• The cost of the telephone bills is the responsibility of the school.
• Emergency calls will be charged for 3 minutes, i.e. local – R3.00.
• Areas around Soshanguve, i.e. Pretoria, Atteridgeville, Mamelodi, Mabopane, Garankuwa, etc. will be charged R5.00.
• Further than these areas, the cost will be R10.00.
Control
• The principal and the two deputy principals are in charge of the telephone.
• A telephone register indicating the time, the date and the place of the destination of the call will be kept.
